April Fool’s Day

Another April the Firstish is neigh upon us, and I am less-than-eager to see the fallout across the internet this year. I know most people have good intentions, but I would guess that most “pranks” are just cringe-worthy at best.

And why do we even bother with a day to celebrate gullible people? Since they are gullible, can’t we make fun of them all year long? Why institutionalize the practice? Most people see it coming, right?

I mean, come on, it’s April 1st. You have to take everything with a grain-of-salt.

The better pranksters will wait until April 22ndd, then as their victim is groaning at being taken in, the prankster will stand up and shout “HAPPY EARTH DAY!”.

It’s funny, because it’s unrelated. You’ll see.

Gene Kelly-ish… pretty good.

  • AT&T 3G performance in Denver, CO is horrible. Suspect failed equipment. Expect dropped calls, and poor 3G data access (if any). #
  • J – call my desk if needed. #
  • Second day of this shit from AT&T. Downtown denver is filled with nothing but static it seems, affecting all my 3G users. #

Tsunami arrives in Emeryville CA

From description:

We saw this wave come ashore in Emeryville today. Remember it had to go through the Golden Gate first so they must have had a larger wave on the unprotected beach.

Also:

NOAA has released this image showing maximum computed tsunami amplitude (in cm) “during 24 hours of wave propagation.”

The data was calculated using the MOST (Method of Splitting Tsunami)forecast model. According to NOAA, “this method takes into account three processes of tsunami evolution: earthquake, transoceanic propagation, and inundation.”

  • Sleeping while riding the bus… Looks creepy when other people do it, makes me feel vulnerable. Even surrounded by blue hairs. #
  • Must. Stay. Awake. #
  • I finished my book. So I have nothing but samples to read. But I don't want to go sample trolling because I may want to read the sequel. #
  • And reading books out of order is something I try to avoid. #
