As of late, I am struggling with hope
\nAs I think we all are, our persona
\nIs under strain, powerful conflict
\nRaging between what is right
\nNot left, not left, but what is easy
\nRage expounds, it impounds, develops
\nIt’s own cells of water boarded isolation
\nAnd we stand, amok, impotent and wondering
\nWhat things can be done, proposed
\nWithout the amygdalial response, pulsing
\nThe fervent push of defensive anger
\nWhat can be done when no one seems
\nTo listen?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As of late, I am struggling with hope
\nAs I know we all are, our people
\nCowing to the lowest, accepting trash
\nEugenics are frowned upon, racism is
\nUndeniable sin, we are capable of rational
\nThought, wrapping us, binding us up
\nI posit that souls from heaven lined
\nWe do not decide our birthright or family
\nBut society should value the new souls
\nSee the gold, from the silver, from bronze
\nOutside of circumstance, skin, economics
\nI ask the impossible, demand it wholly
\nWith reverence?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As of late, I am struggling with hope
\nAs I see that you are, yourself
\nLooking for purpose among services
\nSeeking value among things without such
\nMeasure, and you look upwards, hoping
\nA plan exists, and all is inevitable
\nBut we were not allowed this existence
\nWith the shallow plan of death on earth
\nSuch cowardice! Such idiocy! Such
\nUnbelief, in what the possibility is
\nDon’t you see it now? The incredible
\nDo not be incredulous, do not
\nDoubt us?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As of late, we should not struggle hope
\nDownwards into the dirt where we wallow
\nShe is beautiful, timeless, and whole
\nNo matter what evils we may attempt to
\nAssign or attribute, we do not gain
\nIn the assignation of poor labels
\nShe is a brilliant glorious goddess
\nAnd our duty is to look to her light
\nIt is said, Hope Springs Eternal
\nBut I argue that Hope springs within
\nFrom all of us, it is humanity
\nOur nature to strive, overcome
